Burna Boy has clinched the ‘best African act’ category at the 2022 MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs).
The ‘African Giant’ crooner was nominated in the category alongside Ayra Starr, Black Sheriff, Tems, Zuchu and Musa Keyz.
Taylor Swift was the big winner at the award event, which was held at PSD Bank Dome in Düsseldorf, Germany on Sunday night.
The US singer took home four awards including ‘best artist,’ ‘best video,’ ‘best pop’ and ‘best long-form video’ for ‘All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version).’
Nicki Minaj was also awarded ‘best-hip-hop’ and ‘best song’ for ‘Super Freaky Girl,’ while Harry Styles won in the ‘best live’ category.
Seventeen, the South Korean boy band, beat Tems, the Nigerian songstress, to claim the ‘best new artiste’ category.
