‘Everybody Loves Jenifa‘, Funke Akindele’s latest movie, has become the highest-grossing movie of all time in West Africa, grossing an impressive N1.6 billion just one month after its release.
FilmOne Studios, the entertainment company, announced the latest achievement in an Instagram post on Monday.
“A billy gang, we’re up! Everybody Loves Jennifer has grossed over 1.6 billion Naira at the box office!” the post reads.
“We can’t thank you enough for showing this movie all your love!”

Akindele also took to her Instagram page to celebrate the feat while thanking God and her fans.
“Na God do am. I am so grateful to you all. I no know wetin I go write again,” she wrote.
‘Everybody Loves Jenifa’ is also Nollywood’s highest-grossing movie of all time.
The film is part of the popular Jenifa franchise, which has been entertaining audiences since 2008.
This is not the first time a movie by Akindele will make history in the Nigerian film industry.
In January 2024, ‘A Tribe Called Judah’ became the first Nollywood movie to hit N1 billion at the Nigerian box office.
‘Battle On Buka Street’ was also named Nollywood’s highest-grossing film with N640m in 2023.
