Elon Musk, the billionaire founder of Tesla Inc., has denied a report claiming he had an affair with Nicole Shanahan, the wife of Sergey Brin, Google co-founder.

The 51-year-old was reacting to a report by the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) on Sunday that the billionaires’ longtime friendship ended after he allegedly had a romantic affair with Brin’s wife last year, which led to the couple’s divorce.

Musk took to his Twitter page to describe the report as “total bs”.

The Tesla boss also said he and Brin are still friends, adding that they were at a party together on Saturday night.

“This is total bs. Sergey and I are friends and were at a party together last night,” Musk wrote while replying to a link to the story posted on Twitter.

“I’ve only seen Nicole twice in three years, both times with many other people around. Nothing romantic.”

WSJ, in its report, claimed Musk had a brief fling with Shanahan at Art Basel, a multi-day art event in Miami, in December last year.

It said the incident allegedly prompted Brin to file for divorce in January.

The Google co-founder had cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split.

WSJ, however, reported that it was Musk’s dalliance with Shanahan that signaled the end of their marriage.

The development comes a few weeks after the Tesla and SpaceX CEO was said to have fathered twins with a top executive at Neuralink, one of his other companies, in 2021.
