The Instagram account of Mahra, the daughter of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE prime minister and Dubai ruler, has announced her divorce from Mana Bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, her husband who is also a royal.
A recent post from her verified IG page revealed she was ending her marriage.
Although the reason for the divorce was not stated in the post, infidelity was hinted at.
The post appeared to invoke triple talaq — a controversial practice of triple divorce that is used in some Muslim countries where a man instantly divorces his wife by declaring it three times.
“Dear husband, as you are occupied with other companions, I hereby declare our divorce. I divorce you, I divorce you and I divorce you. Take care, your ex-wife,” the post reads.
Photos of her husband seem to have been deleted from her account while the same applies to Mana’s page.
The UAE government and Mana have yet to publicly comment on the divorce post on Instagram.
While it remains to be seen if both accounts were hacked, Mahra’s page, however, remains active more than a day since the post went up.
Mahra and her husband tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in April 2023.
They welcomed their first child — a daughter, two months ago.
