Patoranking, the Nigerian singer, has put out a new single titled, ‘Abobi’.

The music star announced the release of the song via his Instagram page on Friday.

The single is the second track from his forthcoming album.

In the song, Patoranking relays the societal problems in the country in an energetic Afrobeats rhythm.

“Kill by a gun, you’ll die by the gun. How you go feel at the point of no return. Enough men dead under the sun. Naso dem kill innocent man, innocent man get padi man, padi man vex turn Taliban, Taliban run the whole town down,” the lyrics read.

‘Abobi’ was directed by Dammy Twitch and produced by Kel P.

Patoranking started his career collaborating with artistes such as XProject, Konga, Slam, and Reggie Rockstone.

He signed a record deal with K-Solo’s Igberaga Records in 2010, releasing ‘Up in D Club’ under the the music label.

The singer soon became a protégé of Dem Mama Records after collaborating with Timaya on his song ‘Alubarika’.

Patoranking has also received several recognitions.

In 2016, the musician received the award for ‘Best Dancehall Artist’ at the AFRIMA.

He was also recognised as the ‘African Artiste of the Year’ at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

In 2022, the singer clinched the ‘Best Recording Of The Year’ as well as ‘Best Reggae & Dancehall Album’ categories at the 15th headies.
