The Port Harcourt-born hitmaker announced the release of the song on his verified Twitter page in the early hours of Friday.

The announcement came with a garish artwork that foretells the boppy sound that is being released.

In the track, the Grammy-nominated Afro-fusion crooner sings while freeing his mind with “shayo” to numb against the harsh reality of life.

The less than three-minute feel-good track started with Omah Lay paying homage to Wizkid’s open lines in ‘Baba Nla’, the Grammy-winner 2018 hit single.

“I get a girl for America/ She no dey ever ever let me down/ I get another one for Senegal/ She no dey ever ever give me nack/ I get another one for Unilag/ That one behaves like a hoodlum/ I get another one for Uniport/See me see trouble kill a boy/ Now we don bust o,” he sings in the first verse.

Before moving to the infectious chorus: “Free my mind/ Free my mind with Shayo/ Free my mind/Free my mind with Shayo/ Free my mind.”
