Denrele Edun: I’m a sexual outlaw… Not been very lucky with love

Denrele Edun, Nigerian eccentric TV host, says he is a sexual outlaw and that his sexuality is not restricted to popular definitions.

The media personality, who said this when he featured on the latest episode of VJ Adam’s ‘Off the Top,’ added that people have used an array of terms to define him, but he would rather regard his sexuality as been ‘fluid’.

“People ask me, you are all kinds of sexual– homosexual, bisexual, metro-sexual, sexual-sexual, solo-sexual… I had to come up with something. I said OK, I’m a sexual outlaw, but I have played it out now, because when they ask me what does that mean, I say, go and figure it out. So let’s just say my sexuality is very fluid,” said Denrele.

On his love life, the eccentric showbiz guy described himself as “a hopeless romantic” who has not been too lucky when it comes to matters of the heart.

“I have not been very lucky with love too many times in my life. And most of the people I used to be crazy about back then, are married with kids, or the other ones are with someone else,. I am always at the receiving end… but it’s very hard for me to question now why people call me, because everybody just want something. So I can’t tell who is genuine, who is authentic and who does not want  something at the end of the day,” he said.

“I have discovered that I have so much love to give. I love love, I am a hopeless romantic, I can watch a movie, and one line from a movie can make me cry, I am mushy-mushy.”

The media personality was recently featured on CNN’s African Voices where he spoke about some of the challenged he faced as a younger man.
