“Stay true to your culture. They will come,” the singer added, in reference to his decision to revert to his original sound after his international experiment failed to gain traction.
The singer signed a record deal with Sony Music in 2016 and his song releases afterwards earned the criticism of fans for sounding too foreign.
‘IF’, which he described as his revert to African rhythms, has rapidly risen to the top of several charts since its release.
The song was produced by Tekno, who is equally having a great year with hit songs like ‘Pana’ and ‘Diana’.
The Nigerian singer’s tweet has been retweeted by R Kelly, which serves as an indication that he actually jumped on ‘IF’.
The singer recently welcomed his second daughter, Hailey Veronica Adeleke.
Davido who is presently in London will make stops in South Africa, Ethiopia, and Ghana, before heading back to Nigeria.
