Davido, Chioma getting stronger after son’s death, says Tobi Adegboyega

Tobi Adegboyega, the UK-based Nigerian pastor of SPAC Nation, says Davido and Chioma are getting stronger after losing Ifeanyi, their three-year-old son.

Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos police public relations officer, confirmed Ifeanyi’s death to TheCable Lifestyle on Tuesday.

The three-year-old boy was said to have drowned in a swimming pool at his father’s residence in the Banana Island area of Lagos State on Monday.

In an Instagram post on Thursday, Adegboyega, who is a close friend to Davido’s family, said he spoke with the singer and his fiancee.

“Spoke to No 1. OBO. 2nd time. He is getting stronger, he is rising. They’re both getting stronger. Praise God,” he wrote.

The cleric had earlier cancelled his birthday celebration scheduled for November 11 in honour of Ifeanyi.

“This video for me is not a condolence video because I know those who are affected personally but I’m saying this because of the people that I need to reach quickly to say the plan for November 11 is hereby cancelled,” he had said.

“We all have to stand in faith with the bereaved. I’m a father and I understand what it means to lose a loved one. I have been a pastor for 18 years so we’re all standing in solidarity.”
