Since he went viral for singing ‘IF’, a hit song by Davido, a primary school boy known as Utibe has had his life transformed.
Two weeks after promising to sponsor Utibe’s education, the Afro pop star has announced that he is building a new house for the boy.
The singer took to Instagram on Saturday to make the announcement while he also shared pictures of the ongoing construction.
Davido promised to visit Utibe and his mother when he returns to Nigeria.
“Utibe loving the new house I’m having being built for him and his mother!! Can’t wait to visit when I’m back home!! OBO GOT U FOR LIFE,” he wrote.
An Instagram user with the username ‘Sham Rock’ had shared a video of the boy singing: “N30 million for my account oooh”.
According to Sham Rock, he took the video at a time when Utibe should have been in school.
The video caught the attention of Davido who reached out to Sham Rock and the rest, as they say, is history.
Davido, who is known for extending a helping hand to people on social media, was recently criticised for failing to follow through on his promises.
The singer is set to embark on his ’30 Billion’ world tour which will begin on Friday, June 23.
