David Oyelowo, British-Nigerian actor, and Jessica, his wife, have taken to social media to celebrate their 21st wedding anniversary.
The filmmaker, who has quickly become one of Hollywood’s most sought-after talents, took to his Instragram page on Thursday to appreciate his sweetheart for the years of “blissful” marriage.
“To my “till death do us part” Jessica Oyelowo. Thank you for 21 years of blissful marriage and for loving me even when as a teenager I thought wearing bandannas was the definition of cool,” he wrote and then accompanied the post with a throwback photo of the duo.
In her response, Jessica, who seemed clearly elated, expressed her undying love to her husband.
“DAVID!!!! all the ways you still make me feel. Happy 21st anniversary baby. I love you forever. And ever. And ever,” she wrote.
The lovebirds tied the know in September 1998. The union has been blessed with four children.
The ‘Gringo’ actor is famed for his role as an MI5 officer on the British drama series ‘Spooks’ and Martin Luther King Jr. in the 2014 biographical drama film ‘Selma’.
He once spoke on becoming the first black James Bond and the significance of him playing the role.
“The significance of someone like me playing a role like James Bond is not lost on me. It is going to be something that will expand horizons,” he had said.
“One of the most beautiful things I have seen in America on Halloween is white kids running around in Black Panther costumes.”
“I did not have a superhero to identify with growing up on a council estate in Islington. It was all Superman. That these things are very important is not lost on me.”
