Nicki Minaj, Trinidad-born rapper, has left her fans in a state of hurt, disbelief and shock after she announced her retirement from the music business.
The 36-year-old talented rapper, took to her Twitter page on Thursday evening to announce that she will be leaving the music scene to start a family.
In June, she had revealed plans to marry Kenneth Petty, her childhood friend, saying they had obtained a marriage license.
Fans of the award-winning singer have since taken to social media platforms, especially Twitter, to express their feelings regarding her retirement.
Quite a number of users expressed their sadness at the news using different memes.
Nicki was also forced to reply a fan who said she had left the community “hurting” with the sudden announcement.
“NICKI MINAJ can u please just address this retirement thing. You e never left us so hurt your entire career. We’re just hurting Nicki 🙁 it’s US it’s the barbz plz…,” she wrote.
In her reply Nicki wrote: “I’m still right here, still madly in love with you guys and you know that. In hindsight, this should’ve been a Queen Radio discussion & it will be. I promise u guys will be happy. No guests, just us talking about everything. The tweet was abrupt & insensitive, I apologize babe.”
