Syndicat National de l’Édition Phonographique (SNEP), the body in charge of French records, announced the feat in an Instagram post on Monday.

Platinum certification in France is awarded to singles that have shipped, sold, or streamed up to 150,000 units or albums that have achieved 100,000 units in the same vein.

According to SNEP, CKay’s song got certified after amassing over 30 million streams.

The ‘Felony’ crooner further confirmed the feat in a post via his Instagram story.

The development comes less than a month after the song was also certified Gold in France. The track had sold a total of 100,000 units in the country.

It means the singer now holds a record of two platinum certifications in France.

In 2021, ‘Love Nwantiti’, his hit single, became the first Nigerian song to be certified platinum in the country.

CKay had released ‘Emiliana’ in 2021 under Warner Music South Africa. The musician was formerly signed to Chocolate City in Nigeria.

In September 2017, he released his first extended play (EP) ‘Who the Fuck Is CKay?’ while ‘CKay the First’, his second EP, was put out in August 2019.

He thereafter released his third EP ‘Boyfriend’ also through Warner Music South Africa in February 2021.
