Chris Brown, the R&B singer, has partnered with Davido, the Nigerian singer, on a new single titled ‘Hmmm’.
Released on April 11 as part of the deluxe edition of Chris Brown’s ‘11:11’ album, ‘Hmmm’ offers a fresh dose of Afrobeats flavour.
Davido opens up the track with his energetic vibe, singing “So mi so so (Mm-hmm), I don’t know, know (Mm-hmm), make them they turn up (Mm-hmm), they no see me coming (Mm-hmm), are you ready for me? (Mm-hmm), energy like cocaine (Mm-hmm) creme de la creme (Mm-hmm).”
Their voices intertwine seamlessly, with Chris Brown’s velvety touch elevating the song’s rhythm.
“Ah, hey when Oluwa CB enter, them no go gree you enter, malo. Ah, hey shey you want to see mental, I don’t give them back to sender, why not?” Chris Brown sings.
‘11:11’ would not be the first collaboration between the music stars.
In 2019, they collaborated on Davido’s hit ‘Blow My Mind’. Chris Brown also featured Davido on his track ‘Lower Body’ that same year.
Their partnership continued in 2020 with ‘Shopping Spree’ featuring Young Thug, the US rapper, and most recently on ‘Sensational’ in 2022, which also included Lojay, the Nigerian singer.
Both artistes have continued to enjoy fame globally for their talents.
Chris Brown is considered one of the most influential and successful R&B singers worldwide.
The singer also has eleven albums to his credit.
Davido, on the other hand, rose to prominence with his 2012 hit ‘Dami Duro’.
He released ‘Timeless’, his fourth studio album, in March 2023.
