Davido, the Afrobeats megastar, has announced that he will be hosting his first-ever Are We African Yet (AWAY) music festival in Atlanta, Georgia, US.

Announcing the event in a recent post on his Instagram handle, Davido said the festival will be held at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena on November 18.

The ‘Dami Duro’ crooner described the event as “a one-day music festival and cultural experience” which is aimed to “promote and foster cultural exportation and collaboration between Africa and the world.”

Artistes lined up for the concert include Wande Coal, Kizz Daniel, Lojay, BNXN, Pheelz, Oxlade, Focalistic, and Victony.

“I’m inviting you to come away with me to the maiden edition of A.W.A.Y Festival, a one-day music festival and cultural experience. A.W.A.Y Festival will promote and foster cultural exportation and collaboration between Africa and the world and there is no time like now,” Davido wrote.

“I can’t wait to have some of my friends from back home share the stage with my friends Stateside as we promote the culture! Tickets go on sale on the 23rd of Sept.”

Davido was born in Atlanta before moving to Nigeria.

He was recently presented with the humanitarian award of the year at the recent 2022 Headies in the same Atlanta.
