Kizz Daniel, the Nigerian singer and songwriter, has received a plaque for hitting 500 million streams on Boomplay.

Boomplay, one of Nigeria’s leading music streaming platforms, announced Daniel’s feat across its social media handles on Monday.

According to the streaming service, it was only right that the ‘Cough’ crooner “gets his flowers for making us Buga”.

“It’s only right he gets his flowers for making us #BUGA this year. KING VADO @KizzDaniel receives his plaque for hitting 500,000,000 total streams on Boomplay,” the tweet reads.

“And it’s a sight to behold. Keep streaming his hits.”

Daniel rose to prominence with the release of his 2015 single titled ‘Woju’.

The ‘Lie’ crooner signed a record deal with G-Worldwide Entertainment in 2013 but left the label following a publicised contract dispute and court case.

He would later establish Fly Boy Inc, his own record label, in November 2017.

The singer has continued to enjoy massive reception among music lovers and prominent figures across the globe since the release of ‘Buga’, his 2022 hit song.

A challenge was earlier created on social media platforms to promote the less than four-minute song. The challenge has continued to reverberate among music lovers.

Daniel has also put out numerous beautiful projects and received several awards and recognition for his craft.
