The singer had earlier hinted that his sixth studio album would be released on July 2, 2022, his 31st birthday.

In a tweet after his Madison Square Garden concert, Burna said the project will highlight his personal struggles.

“Love, Damini is a personal body of work. It’s about the ups and downs, the growth, the L’s and W’s. I’m excited to share this journey and roll [it] out with you all,” the tweet read.

Burna Boy started to gain fame after releasing ‘Like to Party’, the lead single from his debut album ‘L.I.F.E’ (2013).

In 2017, Burna Boy signed with Bad Habit/Atlantic Records in the US and Warner Music Group internationally.

His second studio album ‘On A Spaceship’ came in 2015 but ‘Outside’, his third, marked his major-label debut.

Burna’s fourth album ‘African Giant’ was released in July 2019 and nominated for the 62nd Grammy Awards.

In the same year, he won ‘Best International Act’ at the BET Awards and was named an Apple Music Up Next artist.

Burna Boy’s ‘Twice as Tall’ album, which became his fifth, was nominated for the 2021 Grammys and it won.

This achievement made the singer the first Nigerian to score back-to-back nominations at the Grammys.
