Mayorkun, the Nigerian singer, has put out ‘Let Me Know’, his first single of the year 2021.
In a short caption that accompanied the single’s release on his Instagram page on Friday, the DMW signee said “I poured my whole heart into this one.”
The ‘Of Lagos’ singer had earlier disclosed that the track will serve as the lead single off his sophomore album.
He also added that the last 9 months have been “a roller coaster of different emotions”, noting that the new single will contain an expression of his different experiences and feelings during the period.
“But trust me; the last 9 months have been a roller coaster of different emotions…love, envy, betrayal, loneliness; most of which I made music about..,” he wrote on Twitter.
“It reminded me of who the f**k I am. You’d love it!”
Since the release of ‘Your Body’, his 2020 single, the ‘Geng’ crooner hasn’t put out a song of his own. He only featured in ‘Cho Cho‘, a collaborative track with Zlatan and Davido in April.
The singer gained popularity after ‘The Mayor of Lagos’, his debut album, featuring D’banj, Davido, Patoranking among others. The breakthrough project also garnered massive numbers across streaming platforms.
Mayorkun’s career strides have seen him scoop several awards including ‘Next Rated’ artiste at the 2018 edition of The Headies as well as ‘Artiste of the Year’ back in 2017.
