Burna Boy, the Grammy-winning Afro-fusion singer, has clarified insinuations about his net worth.
During a recent interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, Burna Boy was asked if Google is correct about his net worth being $22 million.
In response, the singer said he is comfortable with the idea of people believing that his actual net worth is the said figure.
“I prefer them to think that. That is cool, yeah. I like that one,” he said.
However, when pressed further by Lowe regarding the accuracy of the figure, the 31-year-old said “they are way off” — implying it is not correct.
The self-proclaimed African Giant added that he is happy to be able to take care of his family’s financial needs.
“It is great, man. It is a blessing. It is nothing short of a blessing,” he said.
“I always told my mum while growing up as a kid that I would buy her a house and a car someday.”

Born Damini Ogulu, Burna Boy also talked about the inspiration behind ‘I Told Them’, his anticipated album.
“It kind of showed me exactly the way I wanted to express what I was feeling and what my unit was feeling. The spirit of my unit. Just put that in because this is every day,” he said.
“This is a side that people do not really get to see because I do not really care for anyone to see. I have fun with it like this. But I felt like this time, this is a way… How do I put it?
“A more understandable way to pass that feeling and that energy across. And at the same time, showing you that’s… Not you. Showing everyone that the combination of worlds is something that we have not really capitalized on.
“Because at the end of the day, once we are all unified, everything else, the fruits of that just take care of everything.”
The 15-track music project is set to be released on August 25.
The singer earlier stirred up a hornet’s nest after he argued that “Afrobeats lacks substance“.
