Maureen Esisi, the ex-wife of Blossom Chukwujekwu, the Nollywood actor, has apologised for her reaction to his new marriage.

Chukwujekwu had his traditional wedding to Ehinome Akhuemokhan, his Edo bride, in Benin city on Friday.

The wedding has continued to attract a wave of conversations on social media platforms.

Some users had wondered why the actor left the fashionista, arguing that she is “more beautiful than his new wife.”

“Men left a hot thing like you for that… Lol,” a user had written, to which Esisi replied with laughter, which appeared to be a mockery of the actor’s new bride.

The entrepreneur thereafter shared a hilarious meme on her Instagram page alongside a cryptic post that wasn’t well-received by her followers.

But in a follow-up post on Instagram, Esisi denied mocking Chukwujekwu’s new wife.

She said her now-viral response to a post which appeared to endorse a comment “body-shaming” the actor’s new bride was for another post.

The fashionista also apologised to the actor’s new wife, adding that “no one deserves such cruelty on their big day.”

“I tried to find the actual comment where this was made and I couldn’t find it. I guess the Adamma lady must have been trolled enough to go look for her comment and take it down. It’s extremely important to me that I clear the air because really, no bride should go through such ever,” she wrote.

“I actually had to reach out to a blog to see if they got the full munch but that was how it was munched by them. But please I still must clarify this. The ‘hahahahhahahaha’ comment was meant for one of those two comments under that comment and not the adamma comment.

“Someone had called me all sorts of horrible names and I had at-ed the person and commented the ‘hahahahahahahaha’ but I guess I didn’t double check it before posting my comment so it got posted without the person’s handle making it look like I was replying adamma instead of the troll.

“I know I play just too much but I would never never be that mean to anyone ever and none deserves such cruelty and of all days, on their big day. All said, I apologise to the lovely bride, it was very careless of me. I’m truly sorry.”

Esisi and Chukwujekwu tied the knot in 2015 but parted ways in 2019.
