A federal high court sitting in Lagos has ordered the remand of Blessing Okoro, the Instagram celebrity better known as Blessing CEO, over alleged cyber-bullying.
Benjamin Hundeyin, Lagos police command spokesperson, told TheCable Lifestyle on Saturday that Blessing was arrested by operatives of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID).
The police FCID was said to have arraigned the self-proclaimed relationship expert on a six-count charge including alleged cyber-bullying, libel, and exhibition of uncensored movies.
Rotshang Dimka, the prosecution counsel, told the court on Friday that Blessing used her Instagram page to “bully, threaten and harass” Folashade Samuels, sister to the late Bimbo Ogbonna, wife to IVD.
Dimka also said Blessing deployed her Instagram handle “to injure the reputation of Folashade Samuels and the late Bimbo Ogbonna, by exposing them to hatred, contempt, and ridicule”.
When the charges were read to her, she pleaded not guilty.
In his ruling, Yelim Bogoro, the presiding judge, ordered her to be remanded in the custody of the Nigerian Correctional Services (NCoS) till May 30 for hearing of her bail application.
IVD, real name Ikechukwu Ogbonna, has been enmeshed in a series of allegations since his wife’s death.
A sister to Bimbo had accused IVD of killing his wife at their residence in Lekki.
In January, Blessing had addressed her rumoured relationship with the celebrity car dealer.
When contacted, Muyiwa Adejobi, the police spokesperson, told TheCable Lifestyle he would find out more details about the case and “get back to us”.
