On Sunday night, the ongoing Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) reality TV show held its first eviction after which Kate ‘Ka3na’ Jones and Boluwatife ‘Lilo’ Aderogba became the first two housemates to leave the ‘Lockdown’ house.
The development had come amid newly introduced twists for this year’s eviction.
How did the eviction happen?
At the end of the first week into the show, Biggie, the instructive voice behind the show’s screen, had announced that this year’s eviction would witness some modifications — different from the previous evictions.
These, he said, include an increase in the voting powers of DStv and GOtv premium subscribers and the granting of immunities to the head of house (HoH) as well as the deputy HoH to be excluded from eviction.
“All housemates, except HoH and Deputy HoH, will be up for nomination and therefore possible eviction each week as well as increased Voting power for those who are premium subscribers,” he had said.
After the announcement, all the housemates were nominated for possible eviction with the exception of Lucy Essien and Nelson Enwerem Prince, who emerged (HoH) and deputy respectively.
But at the end of the week’s voting by fans, Praise Nelson, Eric Akhigbe, Ka3na, and Lilo polled the lowest and were nominated for possible eviction from the house.
Lilo polled 1.52% votes, Eric had 1.37% while Praise and Ka3na were tied on 1.28% votes each.

The remaining 16 housemates were then invited into the Diary Room to nominate two of the bottom 4 for eviction.

At the end of the exercise, 11 people voted Ka3na, 9 picked Lilo, 8 went for Eric while 4 voted Praise for possible eviction.

Ka3na and Lilo were consequently evicted from the house after garnering the highest mentions from the remaining housemates.
