Ayra Starr, the Nigerian singer, has unveiled the tracklist for her highly-anticipated sophomore album, ‘The Year I Turned 21’.
Starr took to social media on Wednesday to share the album’s title, cover art, and complete tracklist.
The 14-track project boasts an impressive lineup of guest appearances, including collaborations with Giveon, the American R&B singer; Anitta, the Brazilian pop star; Coco Jones, the US singer; and fellow Nigerian artistes Asake, Seyi Vibez, and Milar.
Songs on the album include ‘Birds Sing Of Money’, ‘Goodbye (Warm Up)’, ‘Woman Commando’, ‘Control’, and ‘21’.
Others are ‘Lagos Love Story’, ‘Rhythm & Blues’, ‘Last Heartbreak Song’, ‘Bad Vibes’, ‘Orun’, ‘Jazzy’s Song’, ‘1942’, and ‘The Kids Are Alright’.
‘The Year I Turned 21’ follows the success of the music star’s 2021 debut album, ’19 & Dangerous’.
The album is set to drop on May 31 via Universal Music.
Born Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, Starr became a viral sensation after releasing her hit track ‘Bloody Samaritan’ in 2021.
She was among the Nigerian music artistes nominated for this year’s Grammy Awards.
She was nominated in the maiden ‘Best African Music Performance’ category for ‘Rush’.
The music star, however, lost to Tyla, the South African singer.
In February, Starr opened up about her struggle with imposter syndrome following the release of ‘Rush’.
She stated that the song blew up as soon as it was debuted and she began to feel undeserving of the success.
“When it came out, it blew up immediately. Just from the snippet, like a 30-second snippet, it was already trending,” she said.
“I started to have imposter syndrome because nothing like that has ever happened to me. Like, I do not know if I deserve this.”
