Ali Nuhu, a Nigerian actor better known for his roles in both Hausa and English movies, has lost Nuhu Poloma, his father, to an undisclosed illness.
Naziru Auwal, a Kannywood producer, took to his social media page to break the sad news on Monday.
“Ali Nuhu just lost his father in Gombe,” his post partly read.
It was gathered that the former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Gombe breathed his last at the Federal Teaching Hospital in the state.
Several other Kannywood stars including Maryam Booth and Adam Zango also took to their social media pages to mourn the deceased.
“May his soul rest in peace,” Adam wrote on Instagram.
On her part, Booth prayed to God to forgive the sins of the deceased.
The retired civil servant and politician is survived by Fatima Karderam, his wife, as well as Ali Nuhu and Kabiru Poloma, his sons.
His death further stretches the list of people who have died from various diseases, including COVID-19, the respiratory disease caused by coronavirus, since the dawn of the year.
TheCable Lifestyle had earlier reported how Kayode Odumosu, veteran Nollywood actor, better known as Pa Kasumu, also passed away at 66.
The ‘Last Flight to Abuja’ star had made headlines in March over reports that he tested positive for COVID-19 after attending the 2020 African Magic Viewers Choice Award (AMVCA).
