Oluwatosin ‘Mr Eazi’ Ajibade and Temi Otedola, his wife, have revealed the reasoning behind their multi-continent wedding celebrations, with the singer teasing that another ceremony may still be on the horizon.
The couple, who began dating in 2017 and got engaged in April 2023, recently culminated their six-year romance with a lavish, three-part wedding across Monaco, Dubai, and Iceland — an event rumoured to have cost approximately $15 million.
During a recent episode of their joint podcast How Far, the couple explained their choice of locations.
When Mr Eazi asked his wife why they didn’t hold the civil ceremony in Nigeria despite his preparations, they agreed Monaco was ultimately the perfect fit for the private event they envisioned.
Reflecting on the logistical feat, Temi remarked: “We did three weddings within three months. That was insane. Do three destination events within three months”.
Mr Eazi interjected, hinting at future plans: “And we have one more to go”.
“The first event, we said we want to have a court wedding. And we were like, okay, we can do it in Nigeria. But then we were thinking if we do it in Nigeria, and go to the courthouse in Nigeria, it will no longer be as private as we wanted it to be,” the singer continued.
“Then we found that one of my friends said the court could come to your house, they just put a flag in your sitting room, and you do it.
“And I thought that was cool. But you (Temi) were not having that.”
Mr Eazi said one of his friends advised him to hold their civil wedding in Nigeria, but Temi insisted on Monaco because “it was her top choice”.
Temi clarified her perspective, stating that alternatives like Nigeria or the UK didn’t feel personally resonant. “Even Monaco is more sentimental,” she added.
