Onyinyechi Basil of Anambra State has emerged winner of Miss Universe Nigeria 2025 pageant.
The finale was held on Saturday at the Convention Center of Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, and was hosted by Anthony Abraham and Victory Wilson.
From the 22 finalists unveiled on August 26, the contestants were trimmed down to the top 10 and then the top five.
The top 5 included Miss Ogun, Miss Lagos, Miss Akwa Ibom, Miss Anambra and Miss Bayelsa.
Basil outshone the 5 finalists to clinch the crown in the third edition of the competition, after competing in the swimwear, traditional costume, and evening wear segments, as well as the question-and-answer session.
She succeeds Chidimma Adetshina, the embattled Miss South Africa contestant.
Damilola Bolarinde who represented Lagos was named the first runner-up, Fortune Kurobo of Bayelsa and Miss Ogun, Irene Ikediashi were named second and third runners-up respectively.
Miss Akwa Ibom, Idah Eno, also received a separate crown as she emerged the Miss Supranational Nigeria 2025.
As a country-level winner, Basil will represent Nigeria at the 74th Miss Universe pageant in Bangkok, Thailand on November 20.
She will also receive a cash prize, the amount yet to be disclosed, along with material gifts, brand endorsements, training opportunities, and paid appearances.
