‘The Serpent’s Gift’, a film by produced by Winifred Nkiru Mena-Ajakpovi, the Nigerian filmmaker, is set to hit cinemas across the country on August 29.

‘The Serpent’s Gift’ follows the aftermath of the sudden death of Nduka Sylvanus, a revered businessman in Eastern Nigeria.

Left behind is his young, elegant widow, Ijeoma, who unexpectedly becomes the custodian of his empire and the target of a ruthless family determined to reclaim what they believe is rightfully theirs.
Shot in lush, Igbo-styled locations and rich in traditional aesthetics, the film blends the suspense of a legal thriller with the emotional weight of family drama.

‘The Serpent’s Gift’ features Linda Ejiofor-Suleiman, Stan Nze, Tina Mba, Daniel Etim-Effiong, Beverly Osu, and music star Ric Hassani.
Their characters bring to life a tightly woven tale of loyalty, greed, womanhood, justice, and power in a contemporary African setting.

Mena-Ajakpovi, the film’s producer, is known for championing layered, female-led stories, while Kasum is regarded as one of Nigeria’s most dynamic cinematic directors.
