Chukwuka Ekweani, the Nigerian singer better known as CKay, has marked his return to social media with a surprise announcement of his engagement.
The artiste, who had been relatively quiet online since leaving Warner Music South Africa and launching his own record label, unveiled his partner on Wednesday on Instagram.
In the post, CKay uploaded a photo of himself proposing to his partner at a picturesque beachside setting.
The scene was adorned with red flowers, an aisle of green plants, and candles, creating a dreamy atmosphere.
The ‘Love Nwantiti’ hitmaker was captured on one knee, holding his lover’s hand as he popped the question.
Alongside the romantic image, CKay simply captioned the post, “Together forever,” sparking a wave of reactions from fans and celebrities alike.

While some congratulated him, others questioned whether the post was a prank or a promotional stunt for new music.
CKay became a household name when he released his hit song ‘Love Nwantiti’ in 2019.
He was signed to Chocolate City in 2015. Under the label, he released his second extended play, ‘CKay the First’, which housed ‘Love Nwantiti’.
In 2021, CKay disclosed that he was not signed to Chocolate City but to Warner Music South Africa. He also recalled how he disobeyed his parents to pursue music.
In August 2024, CKay launched his record label Boyfriend Music, which he co-founded with Joseph Salubi, his childhood friend.
The label, according to him, is dedicated to “helping artistes, songwriters, and producers collect their rightful royalties”.
In April, CKay officially ended his partnership with Warner Music South Africa.
