Fido, the fast-rising Nigerian singer, has released the highly anticipated music video for his uplifting single ‘Joy Is Coming’.
The vibrant visuals, directed by Filmboi, premiered on Thursday, five months after the song’s release.
Set in Lagos, the nearly four-minute video perfectly captures the essence of the track, showcasing scenes of celebration, love, and pure happiness.
From a joyful couple exchanging vows to traders and children gleefully singing along, the video highlights moments of unbridled joy. Every frame radiates positivity, with smiling faces and lively dance moves reinforcing the song’s hopeful message.
“He say na me been taking things easy/ Catching some cruise with my gees/ You smoke one puff you dey hiss/ Comot body no dey disciplined/ Put on shoe make you stand at ease/ All your sorrow make you dance dem free,” the lyrics read.
“If he no be galala I go give dem Fuji/ Wàn má jóooo/ Ijó oooooo yeee/ Ijó oooooo yeee/ Moni ma Jo yeeee/ Ijó oooooo yeee/ If he no be galala I go give dem Fuji/Modupe fo oluwa fo oluwa yeee/ Joy is coming.”
Born Awosika Olayemi, Fido gained mainstream recognition with his breakout single ‘Awolowo’ and began his career under Inner Circle Entertainment.
Earlier this year, his label Oosha Records announced a partnership with global music company EMPIRE, signaling a new phase in his career.
In March, the singer came under fire after accusing Inner Circle Entertainment of financial mismanagement.
Fido also expressed frustration with industry practices, claiming many marketing firms mislead artistes with false promises of support.
