Hanks Anuku, the ace Nollywood actor, has begged Nigerians for financial assistance, saying he has been jobless for many years.
Anuku was in the news in November 2022 after a disturbing video of himself dressed in tattered clothes while roaming the streets surfaced online.
The actor, however, debunked claims that he was battling mental illness.
He was also recently seen in better shape having a brief chat with a stranger at a petrol station in Asaba, Delta.
In a video message via Instagram, the actor pleaded with Sheriff Oborevwori, the Delta state governor, and Nigerians to come to his aid.
Anuku said despite being a “legend”, he has been finding it difficult to feed and does not have a job.
“Oh boy. Well, I am going to address my fans. Those who truly love me, including my governor, Sheriff. I have worked for this country. I have attained the height of being a legend. I have got no job, God knows for how many years,” he said.
“I expect Nigerians also to know that I did it all for them. And if you truly love me. I am just going to ask Governor Sheriff to please support me. And to my fans who truly love me and appreciate the work I have done for them. I will send my account number and if you think you truly love me. May God help you all. Help me. Thank you.”
