Rema, the Afrobeats singer, has opened up on his desire to work with Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion, the megastars.
In a recent chat with The Hollywood Reporter, the singer spoke about his collaboration with Selena Gomez, the American songstress.
He said the project was a huge one for him, adding that he is happy the “rest of the world connected with it”.
“It is a huge one for me. First of all, just being friends and taking it up to the music side of it, it was really organic,” he said.
“I am really glad that the rest of the world connected with the collaboration because it is not just collaborating, it is collaborating with the right person.
“And I feel like there was no one else meant for that remix except Selena and I am glad we got to bless the world this much. The achievements have been huge and amazing, it is been a big one for the culture.
“I am really glad about the doors that Afrobeats song has broken, the doors it has opened, and the listeners it has attracted.”
The singer also revealed his desire to do music projects with Megan Thee Stallion, Nicki Minaj, and other notable female artistes.
“I wanna meet Meg, I wanna meet Nicki. I want to link up with the girls dem,” he said.
In 2022, Rema teamed up with Gomez for the remix of ‘Calm Down’, a single off his debut album.
Since its release, the song’s remix has continued to rake in massive numbers on streaming services, break records and earn awards.
The hit track recently won the ‘Best Afrobeats’ category at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs).
