Multichoice Nigeria has announced a new original indigenous epic series titled ‘Apo‘.
In a statement, the entertainment company said the series will feature Nollywood stars including Abimbola Kazeem fondly called Jigan Babaoja and Yewande Adekoya.
Other cast members include Temitope Iledo, Erioluwa Popoola, and Aliu Gafar.
‘Apo’ — meaning the bag — is a 26-part series chronicling the story of the tenants of the Olanrewaju compound who suddenly find a mysterious bag containing money, a charm, and a gun in their “face me, I face you” home.
They see the money as a chance to escape their current financial realities and will go to any length to “secure the bag”.
However, things do not turn out as they wished after realising a ghost is looking for the money and would punish whoever finally gets it.
‘Apo’ will premiere on September 18 on Africa Magic Yoruba.
Adekoya began acting in 2002 with the Alphabash Music and Theatre Group. Since making her debut in the movie industry, she has won a plethora of awards for her acting.
Jigan Babaoja, on the other hand, is famous for his comic roles in movies. He debuted in the movie industry with his self-produced movie ‘Disable’.
He has since then been featured in several works and has been awarded in recognition of his art.
Jigan will play Yemi Olanrewaju in ‘Apo’.
