Iyanya, the singer, has revealed why he invited Florence, the lady who caught his attention at Davido’s ‘Timeless’ concert, on a date.
TheCable Lifestyle previously reported that Iyanya was one of the music stars who performed at the concert held at the Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) on April 23.
Iyanya, however, took to Twitter the following day to reveal that a lady kept staring at him during his performance.
“One fine girl was eyeing me yesterday at Davido’s Timeless concert but I had to focus on the job. If you are that fine girl report yourself. You wanted to confused me,” he had said.
Luckily for the singer, the lady turned herself in via the microblogging platform after which he promised to go on a date with her.
Just as promised, Iyanya went on a date with the concertgoer and also shared updates on the outing via his Twitter account on Sunday.
In a series of Twitter posts on Tuesday, Iyanya said “Florence was depressed because of a relative battling cancer.”
He also shared photos capturing himself and Florence on a boat cruise in Lagos.
The 36-year-old singer said he decided to put a smile on her face and support her dream of becoming an influencer.
The ‘Kukere’ crooner added that he “didn’t bring her here for any other agenda but to make sure she was happy.”
“Luckily, Florence reached out. I asked my team to reach out to her, while her conversation went on, we found out she has been depressed and only came for the Davido concert to make herself happy,” he wrote.
“My team asked why she was depressed and she told us one of her close relatives had been battling cancer. When I was informed I felt like it will be nice to give her a treat in Lagos.
“I had my team contact her and make plans for her to come to Lagos so I can help put a smile on her face. Life is too short not to spread kindness.
“Florence got to Lagos on Saturday and my team made sure she had the best time here. We got her accommodation, a few clothes, eyewear, hair, LV perfume, Boat cruise, iPhone and few other things to make her feel special. She deserves it!
“When Florence arrived Lagos on Saturday I wasn’t in Lagos, I had events in Calabar and PH respectfully. When I came back Monday afternoon, I headed to Sliver Jetty and spent the afternoon with Florence on a boat cruise.
“She’s amazing guys. She has dreams of becoming an influencer and I want to help make that happen. To assist Florence on becoming an influencer, I got her a brand new iPhone to make this easier and creat good content.
“I only met Florence for the first time on the boat and my team dropped her off at the hotel. I didn’t bring her here for any other agenda but to make sure she was happy after all she’s been through.”
