The music star was booked for a Saturday concert in Awka, Anambra state where he did perform.

In the wake of the backlash that trailed his reaction, Iyanya said the fan had repeatedly slapped him with money.

Iyanya, in a Twitter post, stated that he tried to stop the fan from hitting his face with money but he didn’t comply.

“The guy kept slapping my face with the money. And I tried to hold his hand [but] he continued,” Iyanya tweeted.

Iyanya Mbuk hit the limelight after winning the second edition of MTN Project Fame, a music talent show, in 2008.

He started his music career, thriving with ‘Love Truly’ and ‘Iyanya’, two hit songs on ‘My Story’, his 2009 album.

After a stint with MMMG, a record label he co-founded with Ubi Franklin, Iyanya left to launch his imprint in 2016.

However, the singer would later return to MMMG, reuniting with Franklin five years after they parted ways.
