Mohbad, one of the signees of Naira Marley, the controversial street singer, has raised alarm over what he described as a “physical assault” dealt on him under Marlian Records.
Marlian Records is owned by Naira Marley.
On Wednesday, the young singer took to Twitter to share footage of himself, highlighting a number of bloody bruises he sustained.
In one of the videos, associates of Mohbad are heard speaking in Yoruba, saying “they threw him on the floor and trampled on him.”
In a barrage of tweets, Mohbad claimed members of his management assaulted him for requesting a new manager.
He also called for help, saying “I am dying inside”.
“I’m at the hospital for a CT Scan for head impact and chest X-ray as a result of the assault. I had the meeting clearheaded and without any drug influence too,” the singer wrote.
“Everything he said on the live video is a blatant lie. This isn’t the first time. The last video was made out to look like I was high or overreacting. My life is being severely threatened.
“I’m not intoxicated but I’ve just been diagnosed as an emergency hypertensive patient. I’m not on drugs or drinks and my life is at stake. I’m still getting threats.”

Reacting in now-deleted tweets, Naira Marley claimed Mohbad was “high” when making the assault allegation.
“Obviously, he (Mohbad) is not in his right sense. It is obvious he is not in the right state of mind. Because why will I touch Mohbad or allow anyone to touch Mohbad?” he said.
“Mohbad has a history of getting intoxicated which affects his emotions and actions. #ImNotPerfect. However, all issues would be resolved amicably within the record label.
“I need my bro Mohbad to come on live so u guys can see I don’t have any reasons to lie on him.”

The latest controversy involving Mohbad comes a few months after the singer was arrested alongside Zinoleesky, his co-signee, by officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
In February, Femi Babafemi, a spokesperson of the NDLEA, told TheCable Lifestyle that the singers were arrested with four others “after some quantities of cannabis and molly were recovered from their apartment and car.”
Although they were later released by the anti-drug agency, Mohbad had alleged attempts on his life by the label.
“I don’t want to die. Everybody in the world, if I die it’s Marlian Music [of] Naira Marley killed me. They’ve been doing bad things to me. I went mad because of this issue. Now they’re trying to kill me,” the singer had stated.
