DOWNLOAD: Lojay offers relationship advice in ‘Leader’

Lekan Osifeso, the fast-rising Nigerian singer better known as Lojay, has come through with ‘Leader’, his highly anticipated single.

The ‘Monalisa’ crooner released the track across all streaming platforms on Friday.

In the song — produced by P.Priime — the 26-year-old advises men on how to handle women who take their feelings for granted.

“If she rude put her feelings on cruise/ Tell her it’s all over/ Why you wanna be my controller/ Shey you only see me like a soldier/ Leave her! If she move wrong leave her/ Too many babes on signal,” he sings.

The singer also accompanied the song with a colorful and futuristic visual directed by Uax.

Lojay started to attract attention after the release of ‘LV N ATTN’, his 5-track extended play (EP), last year.

‘Monalisa’, one of the songs on the EP, shot him into the limelight. He has continued to garner visibility on several charts including Apple Music, Spotify, and Shazam.

He also enlisted Chris Brown, the Grammy award-winning Nigerian singer, for the ‘Monalisa’ remix.

Speaking about the ‘Leader’, Lojay said: “I created Leader at a very significant period in my life, a period of self-discovery. If I say, It’s quite personal.

“My life has drastically changed in the last year and fame has made settling into a relationship even more difficult, so I channelled that into a conversation with the mic.

“I wanted to try something sonically that was different from anything I’ve done previously and it just felt like the perfect song to set the tone for the upcoming project.

“When we were brainstorming about the video, Seyi (UAX) and I were particular about stage sets and dark tones.

“He introduced a dystopian feel to it which further set the counterclockwise feel of this phase of Lojay as an artist compared to my previous work.”
