Goya Menor, the Nigerian singer, has aimed a dig at Portable’s class and academic achievement.
Trouble started last Sunday after Menor won the ‘Best Street Artiste’ award at this year’s The Headies which was held at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, Atlanta, the United States.
The remix of ‘Ameno Amapiano’ by Menor and Nektunez, the Ghanaian singer, was adjudged winner of the category.
Shortly after the award ceremony, Portable, who was also nominated in the category — but later disqualified — took a swipe at Menor.
The ‘Zazoo Zeh’ crooner said Menor has been deceived into believing he is a talented musician.
But taunting Portable in an Instagram story on Wednesday, the singer said he has a class in street hop music “because he has a degree and almost got the first class as an undergraduate.”
“I wonder who is comparing a BSc holder who almost made a first-class with someone who can’t even locate his kg3 result,” he wrote.
“As the street hop holder, I gat class. You can never see me dirty.”
Menor had earlier issued a warning to Portable, telling him to behave himself.
“You better behave or you’ll be misbehaved,” he had said.
In May, the ‘Zazoo Zeh’ crooner was nominated for the ‘Best Street Artist’ and ‘Rookie of the Year’ categories.
In the ‘Rookie of the Year’ category, he was expected to compete with Av, Fave, Magixx, and Ugoccie.
For the second category, he was pitted against Bella Shmurda, Mohbad, Naira Marley, and Goya Menor among others.
Shortly after the nominations were unveiled, Portable claimed his co-nominees at The Headies were no match for him.
He also threatened to kill anyone who wins any of the categories in his place.
Despite apologising for his “unguarded utterance,” the award organisers disqualified Portable because he is “a subject of an investigation relating to criminal activities.”
