Victory College Ikare-Akoko in Ondo state has unveiled activities for its 75th Founders’ Day anniversary scheduled to hold between February 21 and 27.

The college’s old students’ association (VICOSA) announced activities lined-up for the event in a statement by Michael Faborode, its national president, and Otunba Olusoga Orogun, its chairman of the anniversary planning implementation committee.

In the statement, the old students said the five-member planning and implementation committee was constituted to ensure success of the Founders’ Day anniversary.

Other members of the committee include: Olugbenga Ajanaku, co-chairman; Yinka Jonah, secretary; Olufemi Oyewole and Adedoyin Alao.

According to the statement, the week-long event will start with an anniversary service on February 21 and end with a thanksgiving service on the 27th.

The statement said students of the college would engage other colleges in an inter-school quiz competition billed for February 22 followed by an inter-house sport the next day.

It added that a career talk and workshop for the students would take place on the fourth day while the annual general meeting of VICOSA and awards presentations would hold on February 25.

Victory College Ikare-Akoko premier school was founded on February 23, 1947 by Augustus Lachland Lennon, an Anglican missionary from Clarendon in Jamaica.

The college is renowned for its academic success at both junior and senior secondary levels.
