In Nigeria, the same is the case; Nollywood can boast of movies adapted from books by various Nigerian writers.

This award winning book by Chimamanda Adichie was published in 2007 and was adapted into a movie in 2013.
This book, The Virgin, was the first book written by Bayo Adebowale and was published in 1985. It was adapted to a movie in 2007 by Tunde Kelani, a Nigerian filmmaker.
Maami was written by Femi Osofisan in 1987 and in 2011, Tunde Kelani adapted it into a movie using the name of the book as the title of the movie.
This movie was adapted from a book (with the same title) written by Olayinka Egbokhare, a lecturer at the University of Ibadan, in 2007. The movie was released in 2015 by Tunde Kelani.
This movie was made from two books written by Chinua Achebe, Things Fall Apart and No Longer at Ease. These books were published in 1958 and 1960 respectively.
