Yankari was sent packing from the survival reality show on Saturday night.

Organisers of the show announced his eviction on Sunday in a post via its Instagram page.

“The ba time crooner @siyanuniverse has been evicted from the show. A warrior through and through,” the post read.

Yankari’s exit from the survival reality show comes after Osasere Agbonile, Jennifer Okorie, and Tosin Emiola were evicted from the jungle.

It also follows after the eviction of Tobechukwu Okoye and Opeyemi Ishmael on November 21 and 22 respectively.

With the latest eviction, there are 6 contestants left in the race for the show’s N50 million grand prize.

In a new twist, the organisers of the show had introduced the “Boomerang Effect”, a development that will allow viewers to vote their favourite contestants back into the jungle.

This chance is however limited to contestants who were lucky enough to secure a boomerang before being evicted from the show.

Osasere Agbonile, Tosin Emiola, Esitima Edem, and Damola Johnson are the contestants who have the possible grace of being saved by the boomerang effect.

The GUS premiered in 2004 and is currently in its 12th season. This year’s edition of the show is tagged ‘The Age of Craftsmanship’ and involves a total of 18 contestants.

Initially, 16 contestants were unveiled by Gideon Okeke, the unveiling show host. But in a new twist, two other contestants were added as wildcards.

The remaining contestants are expected to compete against each other and the wild in quest of a secret treasure that would offer fame and wealth to the last person standing.
