Davido, the award-winning Nigerian singer, has declared his support for Banky W, his colleague, in the upcoming 2023 elections.

Banky W on Monday clinched the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ticket to contest for Eti-Osa federal constituency seat at the house of representatives.

The singer cum politician polled 28 out of 31 votes cast by delegates at the primaries to win the ticket.

In a tweet on Tuesday, the ‘Stand Strong’ crooner congratulated Banky W, adding that “he has his support”.

The ‘OBO’ crooner also charged Nigerians to get up and make a change rather than sit at home and complain.

“Congrats @BankyW! You have my support! Don’t sit at home and complain, get up and make a change,” he wrote.

In April 2021, Banky W had declared his intention to run for the house of representatives.

The ‘Ebute-Metta’ crooner said it has become imperative for young Nigerians to join the system in order to fix it.

This will be the second time the 41-year-old would be contesting for the same position.

In 2019, Banky W vied under the Modern Democratic Party (MDP) but lost to Babajide Obanikoro of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the polls.
