Burna Boy, the Afrofusion singer, has addressed his critics, revealing why he no longer takes a hard approach to situations.
In a recent post on his Instastory, the Grammy winner expressed frustration at being criticised for reacting to issues, while his attackers go unchecked.
The 33-year-old singer wondered why people quickly condemn him for speaking out but show no concern when he’s the victim of an attack.
Burna Boy implied that his critics should consider themselves lucky, saying, “I have too much to lose now”.
The hitmaker also warned his critics not to mistake his silence for weakness.
“When they talk nobody cares, but when I react it’s a Nuclear disaster,” he wrote. “Y’all don’t know how lucky you are that I have too much to lose now, Walahi a lot of you would not be here no more. Anyway make I just go buy another thing to relax.
“Bundle by bundle! No sign of weakness!”
Burna Boy’s post comes on the heels of the controversy surrounding rapper Speed Darlington, who was arrested on November 27 while performing at a show in Owerri, Imo state.
Darlington’s legal team alleged that Burna Boy was responsible for the arrest, although the singer has not publicly addressed the matter.
Darlington had taunted Burna Boy over his affiliation with the embattled US rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ who is facing multiple charges for sexual exploitation and human trafficking.
He asked Burna Boy to explain how he won the Grammy award for his album ‘Twice As Tall’ — a project executive produced by Diddy. He claimed there was a sexual relationship between the duo.
Stan Alieke, another legal representative of Darlington, on Monday, revealed that the rapper had been granted bail.
