Sunmbo, the wife of David Adeoye, the founder of the Royalty Christian Centre, has advised men not to treat “single mothers like a disease”.
David and Sunmbo tied the knot in 2013. Before their union, Sunmbo had two sons for 2Baba, the singer.
David, on the other hand, was previously married for 13 years without any children. His first wife, however, passed away in 2011.
In an Instagram post on Tuesday, Sunmbo encouraged single parents who desire marriage to “trust God completely”.
She said being a single parent is “not a contagious spell”, adding that men are not unfortunate for helping their partner raise their children.
The mother-of-four said anyone who judges single parents does not “deserve” to marry them.
“Single motherhood is not a life threatening disease, neither is it a contagious spell,” she said.
“You don’t become unfortunate for loving her and supporting to raise her children. No! I just felt the need to encourage a single parent out here who desires a fresh start.
“If that person approaching you is judging you by the label, he/she does not deserve to marry you.
“Dear single parent, don’t be too bothered about the one that will be a parent, friend, and mentor to your kids.
“Don’t try to figure it out with your natural mind and calculations. God knows what they need for the task ahead and He will supply.
“Trust God absolutely and let Him be the one in charge of your marital destiny. Like God gave my boys a greatness mentor, God will surely answer your prayers over your kids too.”
In 2018, the couple welcomed their first child together. They had their second child in 2020.
