Yhemolee, the nightlife influencer, has recounted how his parents’ separation almost ruined his life.
During a recent chat with Chude Jideonwo, Yhemolee said he had to support himself and his sister through school after their parents’ marriage ended.
He said his parents were financially comfortable, which made their separation more disheartening.
“I saw myself through school, I saw my sister through school and they separated at a point where they could have damaged our lives,” he said in a mixture of English and pidgin.
“My parents were well-to-do. I went to the best school…I mean as a ‘butter’ child wey people know say na our parents dey responsible, you come leave us all of a sudden.
“My mother now, they call her Iya Ikorodu. If you go her shop now, my picture dey dere. But my father gats to dey explain to them.
“So even me personally, it was paining me. And what can I do? So I relocated him.
“It was my mum’s birthday. I didn’t tell her I was going to call him. So they just met in my parlour and I’m like ‘what else do you want mama. This man is here, forget now. Oya now, make we go chop life.’’
Born Idowu Adeyemi, Yhemolee is a native of Osun state. He is an artiste, actor, comedian, and nightlife personality.
