An unidentified woman who was caught on camera locking a young boy in a cage harbouring fierce dogs has reportedly been arrested.
In the disturbing viral video, shared on Instagram by Gbenga Adeyinka, Nigerian comedian, the woman is seen flogging the shirtless boy with what appeared to be a belt.
“You think I’m joking with you abi? You think you have power,” she asked as she whipped him severely with the belt.
“Enter inside there, let me hear pim, enter inside there,” she said as she forced him into the cage, locked it and walked away presumably into the house.
The video footage was met with outrage as quite a number of Nigerians took to various social media platforms to call for her arrest and immediate prosecution.
In an update to his previous post, the comedian confirmed that the incident took place in Nsukka, a town and local government area in Enugu state, and said that the lady in question has been arrested.
“Breaking! I’ve just been informed that this happened in Nsukka and the lady has since been arrested, thanks for your concern. Nigeria will be great again,” he said.
The Lagos state police command had earlier appealed to the public through its rapid response squad (RRS) Twitter handle to come forward with any relevant information concerning the incident.
“We welcome any info that can lead us to the woman. If it’s in Lagos, the Command will take necessary action,” it wrote.
