Wizkid, the Nigerian music star, has come under fire for not showing up at a concert in Ghana.
The ‘Ojuelegba’ crooner was billed to perform at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday.
In a Twitter post, he also confirmed he would be performing at the concert.

But the ‘Essence’ crooner was said to have disappointed his Ghanaian fans after he failed to show up at the concert as promised.
Live Hub, the show promoter, confirmed Wizkid’s absence at the highly-publicized concert while accusing him of “breaching his contractual obligation”.
In a statement, the show promoter apologised for Wizkid’s absence. It also promised to refund those who paid for tickets.
“Wizkid breached his contractual obligation last night. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused,” the statement reads.
“We will issue full refunds to all who paid for tickets. Please send your barcode to [email protected].”
Wizkid’s absence at the event has continued to elicit a wave of criticism on Twitter, with some users demanding his arrest.
In now-viral video clips, music lovers were seen exiting the concert venue while lamenting the hours they wasted waiting for the singer.
Some users, however, defended the musician, arguing that his absence was due to “poor planning” by the organisers.
Wizkid was in the news recently after he claimed he does not listen to rap music because the genre is “boring and dead”.
The singer further stretches the list of Nigerian celebrities who have been called out for not showing up at their events.
Wizkid is yet to react as of the time of this report.
Below are reactions to the singer’s absence at the concert:
Arrest Wizkid

if ghanaian police doesn’t arrest wizkid for breaking his contractual obligations within 48hrs, then it clearly means most africans are blinded by favoritism and faux humility.
it’s even a big slap on the organizers’ face because he obviously doesn’t rate fans and ticket buyers.

About 5000 people stood waiting for an artist and he decided not to show up. The authorities should intervene. He should be banned and the organizers should be sanctioned. It’s rather distasteful.

First, he doesn't even make good music anymore so they need to arrest every single one of you that waited for 12hrs and have you sent to a psychiatrist. https://t.co/o8b0lkCwfL

The biggest event to flop in Ghana is wizkid’s concert. Wizkid, R2bees, and king promise didn’t show up after people paid 3200 cedis ($280) and table $1000 upwards. Planning and organizing were very poor. It’s 7:39 am and we are still waiting for wizkid to perform.

As you dey cook Wizkid for an unknown story, remember Burna canceled a 6K capacity show in the US and Davido canceled a 5k capacity show in Italy because of low ticket sales 👍

Apologies 🙏🏼to the Wizkid fans that came out in Ghana 🇬🇭, Hopefully you get a better show soon. Wizkid and his team was in the country and venue as of Friday surely something went wrong

Wizkid should have just made the show free for Ghanaians. Accra sports stadium takes 40,000 people but looks like less than 2000 people attended.

Glad Wizkid didn't show up at Ghana last night, organizers had the chance to host a global superstar and planed the event like it's shatta wale they're hosting.

Wizkid keeps forcing himself unto what he’s not yet, doing stadium shows aren’t for people who can’t even boast of stadium songs atleast. he should’ve tried a 5k capacity venue in Ghana instead, would’ve saved him very much embarrassment.
Burna Boy pressure is really real.
