Ayodeji ‘Wizkid’ Balogun, Nigerian music artiste, has announced the cancellation of all his performances scheduled from now till January 2017
The singer took to social media to apologise to his Nigerian and Ugandan fans, explaining that the fatigue of touring for two straight years has taken a toll on him.
The ‘Ojuelegba’ singer noted that he’s been advised by doctors to take a much-needed break while he also promised to be back “stronger and better”.
Wizkid, who has been on an international tour with Drake, American rapper, recently announced his homecoming concert which was scheduled for December 30.
“#TeamWizkid, I’ve been on the road for 2 years touring and doing what I love without a break and now, it’s all catching up on me,” Wizkid, who just got nominated for a Grammy award, wrote on social media.
“I hate this but my doctors have advised me to cancel the rest of my dates for this year and January 2017.
“Apologies to all my fans, especially in Nigeria and Uganda and the rest of the world. I promise to be back stronger and better to see you guys.
“Promise you new music before the end of the year. You all have an amazing Christmas and New Year celebrations.
“I’ll be here recovering and getting my energy up to see you all next year. Love you all and God bless,” the singer added.
