Wiz Khalifa has teamed up with Apple Music for ‘Behind the Cam’, a docuseries highlighting the rapper’s rise to fame.
The American rapper in an Instagram post announced that the series will be available on Apple Music from April 17.
The two-minute trailer premiered on Variety, with insights into Wiz Khalifa’s rise to fame, and interviews with family and friends who witnessed the transition.
“I had him play at a show at Pittsburgh when he was like 16, and the only person that showed up to see him was his Mom, Peachie,” DJ Bonics, the rapper’s tour DJ, said.
The trailer opens with a clip of an act of Taylor Gang, the rapper’s record label, inviting fans to his first performance at Atlanta.
Chevy Woods, a Taylor Gang artiste, said Wiz Khalifa has always been a source of inspiration to the team.
“When the rest of us are like feeling nervous, he always kinda believe in what he kinda like told us what he wanted to do, or was gonna happen, and saying y0! this gonna work..he was just born ready to do this shit,” Chevy said.
The trailer also spotlighted the rapper performing mixtapes to a scanty group, and later to a frenzied crowd.
Khalifa will also hit the Coachella stage on Saturday as part of the star-studded lineup.
