White Money says he makes money from music performance, not from streaming.
The reality TV star, who dived into music straight out of the BBNaija show, spoke in an interview with BBC Igbo.
White Money said music is yet to bring him major revenue but he prioritises conveying a strong message.
The entertainer said he sings for himself and not to please people, especially critics who do not financially support his musical career.
“The truth is singing has not started paying me, I do not get money from streaming, but I get money from performances. I do not have the best voice but I have a message and melody,” White Money said.
“People criticise me, even those paid to criticise me, what you need to know is that I do not sing to make you feel fine or please you because you do not feed me or fund my musical career.”
White Money rose to fame after winning the sixth edition of the BBNaija show.
He has produced quite a number of songs including ‘Rosemary’, ‘Your Life’, and ‘My Heart’.
In December 2021, he released a single ‘Selense’ which was produced by Masterkraft.
In the same year, the entertainer expressed his desire to win a Grammy award.
The singer also called out those comparing him with some past winners of the show who also ventured into music.
“By this time next year I’ll get a Grammy, a lot of hate comments come around,” White Money said.
“A lot of comparisons, they tend to compare with past winners.
“They say every Big Brother housemate wants to go into music.”
