Dinner was served by Ediye Limited (@ediyelimited).
Thanks to all the juicy pictures I had seen on Instagram, I seriously looked forward to visiting this place. That opportunity finally presented itself. My big brother is visiting and every time he comes around, I always show off the city by taking him somewhere new and tonight I picked Ediye Limited.
Immediately I got back from work, we hopped back into the car and drove to No 1 Fola Osibo Street in Lekki, ready to savour the experience.
Getting there, parking was quite challenging but that didn’t stop us because as soon as we got down, Queen Latifah’s voice filled the air and all my parking frustrations disappeared as I nodded my head and rapped along to the nostalgic throwback.
The ambiance was very welcoming, the music was on point but then the service…hmmm! Now don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t bad service, No, it was just you know… very Nigerian.
I ordered chicken and plantain, my brother ordered plantain and Asun and for drinks, I initially ordered a Pina Colada, my brother the Long Island iced tea, and my friend a champagne juice.
Then I changed my mind and ordered a mojito. Please note I told him twice: “change my drink to a mojito” but alas, when the drinks arrived, he came with a pina colada and I had to wait another 20 minutes for my mojito.
Score: Music 10, ambience 10 (for now), food 10 ( it was so good I used my hands to devour my chicken wings. Sorry “posh” Lekki folks, I had to dig in well) service 5, we waited a bit and the boy seemed a bit overwhelmed, crowd 8 (mature and not rowdy) and finally price (6 it was reasonable for a lounge on the island).
In all it was a lovely experience, we even invited friends of ours living in Lekki to come around and they quite enjoyed their meal.
